Yaron Ben-Haim

I work in the projection booth at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, where I’ve been projecting films for over twenty years. Film screenings have grown fewer over the years, but they haven’t disappeared.

I photograph the streets of Tel Aviv and the beach, among other things. Sometimes it’s just the way to work and back. Mostly on film, with a rotating set of cameras.

Alongside this I’m working on a documentary series, Histories of the Cinema Houses. It traces the history of movie theaters in Israel, and next to it my own life and the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, where I work.

אני עובד בתא ההקרנה של סינמטק תל-אביב. יותר מעשרים שנה‏ אני מקרין שם סרטים. הקרנות הפילם הלכו והתמעטו עם השנים, אבל לא נעלמו לגמרי.‏

אני מצלם את הרחובות של תל-אביב ואת חוף הים, אבל לא רק.‏ לפעמים זו הדרך לעבודה והדרך חזרה. רוב הזמן על פילם, עם כמה מצלמות שונות שמתחלפות.‏

במקביל אני עובד על סדרת סרטים, ׳היסטוריות של בתי הקולנוע׳.‏ היא מתארת את ההיסטוריה של בתי הקולנוע בארץ, ולצידה את החיים שלי ואת סינמטק תל-אביב, מקום העבודה שלי.‏
